Filter Refurbishing is an alternative to pricey new purchases when a filter or catalyst has experienced a demanding duty cycle. Many filters that would normally be scrapped out can luckily be restored to function as well as new with proper repairs by experienced technicians.

Cracked Filters

With the help of ultrasound crack detecting equipment we have been very successful at repairing cracked filters that would have otherwise been replaced with a new one. The filters are checked for the severity of any cracks and if there is any possible internal melting which caused the crack. Most of the time the cracks are stress related and are easily repaired. All repaired filters are flow tested and ready for service.

Oil soaked & anti-freeze
fouled filters

Our equipment is capable of cleaning filters and catalysts that are oil soaked due to a blown turbo, and can also successfully remove antifreeze from a DPF or DOC that has become contaminated due to a failed EGR Cooler. When an EGR cooler fails and dumps antifreeze into the DPF, we can clean away any collected soot to the output side of your filter.

Thread Hole Repair

We have specialized equipment and have mastered the techniques to repair catalysts and diesel particulate filters that need thread hole repair, oftentimes where the temperature sensors are located. This is because the thread hole is subject to the elements and is difficult to work with when removing the temperature sensors. This often causes the thread hole to be stripped and can cause damage or breakage of the sensor, which requires repair.

We can salvage any SCR that has this condition and do so for many shops that need this repair.

Filter Repair Evaluation & Authorization

Our experts conduct an evaluation prior to refurbishing to determine the appropriate solutions needed:
